Zero-G have announced the release of Ethera, a flexible vocal instrument that combines vocal samples, simplicity and a high degree of playability all packed into an attractive Kontakt interface. Whilst dubbed a 'cinematic' vocal instrument, UK distributor Time + Space say the sounds in this package will work equally well in many other styles of music including Soul and EDM as well as World, Tribal, Celtic and more. Ethera features three main instruments: Phrases — This includes 45 patches which can be mixed and combined to create new phrases and personalise the existing ones. These phrases can be manipulated in many ways by the GUI controls including time-stretching or syncing to your host application. Pads — This instrument contains several vocal pads that are designed to immediately add emotion or grandeur to your compositions. Legato – Offering the ability to ‘play’ the voice of Ethera using ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ in sustained or staccato modes and features Attack, Legato Speed, Release, Vibrato, Pan and Volume controls. Furthermore there is an additional folder called Ethera Extra with additional sounds such as virtual legato patches, sustains and pads. A complete FX section that includes chorus, flanger and phaser, compressor, EQ, filter, convolution reverb, overdrive, delay, amp simulator and cabinet simulator is also included. AfterShock is the latest release by soundtrack composer, dj and experimentalist Si Begg. For this release, the producers wanted to make a sound library that would sonically stand apart from the many existing cinematic/ trailer style collections. According to its makers, this has been achieved by using palettes of "cutting-edge dance music and taking those into a cinematic realm whilst making sounds that are fresh, intense, exciting and boundary-breaking". Inside the collection you’ll find abstract events, atmospheres, ambiences, hits, sweeps, risers and effects, morphs and transforms, drones and tones and lots more.
